A Message From Darcy Antoine's Family

"The family of Darcy Antoine would like to thank all of you for showing so much love. We would like to also clarify the action leading to his death. On Friday night Darcy and some of his friends from work went out to a local lounge to celebrate Darcy's as he was suppose to return to Pittsburgh the following morning. When they left the lounge on Saturday morning they were talking and saying their goodbyes as a group of thugs approached them. They proceeded to jump Darcy and his friends. Darcy suffered from a blow to his head which caused him to have a seizure. His friends quickly got him into a cab and rush him to the hospital. Approximately 20 minutes after he got to the hospital he was pronounce dead. The autopsy declares he had a brain hemorrhage. Darcy is survived by his mother and brother and many other people who loves him. If you would like to send flowers you can send them to the funeral home Guarino Funeral at 9222 Flatlands Ave., Brooklyn New York 11236."

My heart is heavy with the sad and sensless news about Darcy. Having coached Vlade and Dary both I have grown to form a special relationship with Vlade and the family. I want to express my deepest sympathies to Vlade and his mother. Darcy was a nice young man who was easygoing and grounded. God Bless!

This story is sitting heavy on my heart. I am so sorry for Darcy and his family and loved ones. I did not know Darcy, but his story touched me. It's horrible when these things happen, especially when they happen to young, positive people. To his family and everyone missing him right now, keep your heads up -- don't let "them" keep you down. I pray for your strength, courage, and healing. I pray that they find the people responsible and hold them accountable. Another life lost too soon.

My sincerest condolences.
